RUF RGT '2000-2004 (RUF's golden mean)

How can you justify spending $135,000 on what appears to be a modified Porsche 911? Simly – The first-generation Ruf RGT was introduced in 2000 using an engine and chassis based on the Porsche 996.

The RGT does use the same basic engine as the 911 GT3 — Porsche’s “old-school” 3.6-liter flat-6. With modified catalytic converters, a Ruf exhaust, modified combustion chambers, a different ECU and a high-flow air filter. The result is 387 hp and 382Nm of torque (fed through a stronger 6-speed transmission).

Aerodynamic aids are also an integrated part of the RGT package, which includes a new front bumper/spoiler sill extensions, side mirrors and rear spoiler – for increased downforce.

Probably it was the lasr RUF’s car which amazed me so much. Really golden mean.
